Groupon Canvas on Demand Deal!!

$45 for a 16"x20" Gallery-Wrapped Canvas from Canvas on Demand

($126.95 Value). Shipping Included.

So you know those Christmas portraits you just had taken well now is your chance to get one put on a canvas. You can not beat this deal! And this time I read the fine print and it says you can use up to 10 per person...can we say Birthday gifts or Grandparent Gifts for 2012!!

Here is what Groupon says about the deal:
Canvas on Demand gallery wraps personal photos on 16"x20" canvases for professional photorealistic wall art fit for dressing up any fireplace mantel or bedroom ceiling. After uploading the desired print, image touchup experts make complimentary fixes, such as improving sharpness, balancing and enhancing the color, fine-tuning contrast, and removing suspiciously red eyes. Vibrant images are then printed on textured canvas and stretched around a sturdy 1.5-inch wooden frame, creating a colorful edge that won't need a frame.

Features:
16"x20"x1.5" textured artist canvas
Professional photorealistic finish
Wraparound design eliminates need for frame
Complimentary image editing to correct color, contrast, and sharpness
Upload images, mail-in photos, or catapult personal prints

The Fine Print:
Expires Apr 15, 2012
Limit 10 per person. Not valid until 1/6/12. Online only. Redemption code expires 4/15/12. Includes shipping. Ships within U.S. only. Voucher is non-transferable.

I have personally never ordered from Canvas on Demand but I have several photographer friends who repeatedly buy this deal and love their canvases!! My kids are having their photos taken this week and if they come out great you can bet that I will be purchasing a few for myself. (and this time actually ordering instead of forgetting about it before it expires) Oh and just on this event alone over 5000 have already been sold and there is still 5 days left to order..so this is a a very popular deal!!

A Photographer's Child

Ever wonder how the children of photographers behave when it is time for their photo? Yep I am here to admit my daughter is totally a poser!! Poor thing I promise I did not do it to her...well maybe I did, but I did not mean to...but after a few years of being my model for different locations, props and such and well she has totally turned into a poser!! Enjoy her finest moments as she strikes a pose for the camera!!

This time she got her brother to join in the posing..luckily he usually does as I ask and doesn't get carried away with all this posing!! But yep it carries over into our daily snapshot life too!
After lunch one day I thought the doors to Red Lobster would be perfect for a backdrop!!

Yep even posing during sports!!

Gotta love this one on her first day of kindergarten!!

Hopefully you aren't laughing so loud that your co-workers noticed you were not working on real work this week before Christmas!!

Mailbox Mohawk

This morning I took our christmas cards out to the mailbox and I realized our mailbox had a frosty mohawk so I quickly ran back inside to get my camera and grab some images. It's times like this that I wish I had a macro lens- but I make do with the ones I do have!!

Frosty Friday

I am so excited to photograph our house this winter- we actually have plants and trees and interesting things that will gather frost, snow and ice on them!! Here are a few from this past week with the frost and leftover snow on them. All of these were taken with my Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens.

Shutterfly Online Photo Storage & Gifts

Are you looking for some photo ideas for the holidays? Have you made a decision that in 2012 you are going to organize your photos and store them offsite in case of an emergency??

Oh how I love Shutterfly- If you are looking for a trusted place to store your photos online and order photo gifts I highly recommend you check them out: Shutterfly They opened in 1999 and I have personally stored my photos with them since 2005. They have unlimited storage and they do not delete your photos.

I have created numerous photo gifts over the years from calendars, journals, photo books, photo cards, ornaments, and DVD slideshows (back before there was home software to do that!) I have never been disappointed in their quality and their customer service is awesome. Plus they always have sale going on!

Does your child play sports or is involved in a group that you take photos in- Shutterfly has share sites that are wonderful. Parents can upload their photos into their group's share site and other parents can download and print the photos from there! I have several of these share sites for my son's activities and my personal family site.

Shutterfly has no idea I posted about this- I just love their products and wanted to share it with you all.

Annoucement

Today I am announcing the closing of Elizabeth Lee Photography and Winning Moments Photography. I have been considering this for a while now and have finally found peace with my decision. A photography business takes precious time away from my family and as my kids get older I am realizing just how important that time really is.

I am now focusing on getting ready to move into our new house. My daughter just started kindergarten and is playing her first season of soccer- something that is too precious for me to miss. Fall means basketball season for my son at the middle school- his last year and lots of fall festivals and holiday activities to attend with my family. Most of all I am looking forward to going back to being a MWAC (mom with a camera) who enjoys capturing the day to day activities of my family.

To all my clients- Thank you for believing in me when I first started out and supporting my growing business. I have become wonderful friends with many of you and I look forward to continuing our friendship and watching your little ones grow up!

If you are interested in purchasing a CD from your session please contact me at elizabethleephoto@yahoo.com for details.

Project 52/ Week 2

Week 2: Our favorite Dinner
Yummy French Dip Sandwiches

This is one of my family's favorite meals during the winter. It is super easy to make and even makes your house smell yummy!

Ingredients:
Pot Roast (whatever size you need to feed your family)
Au Jus mix packet
Provolone or Pepper Jack Cheese slices - 2 per sandwich
Italian Hoagie/Sub Roll for each person

Directions:
Mix Au Jus mix with 3-4 cups water, stir
Put Pot Roast into crock pot
Poor Au Jus mix onto pot roast
Cook for 8 hours
Once meat is done
Open Rolls and split cheese to cover both sides of roll
Place rolls in oven or toaster oven to melt cheese
Shred meat with fork and place over cheese
Pour au jus over sandwich or into a small bowl for dipping

...Enjoy!!

P.S for the little ones who won't eat the pot roast- just leave the meat off their sandwich and make them a hoagie grilled cheese!

Project 52/ Week 1

Well I decided to join some fellow photographer friends in a 52 week project.

The rules- you take and post at least one personal photo a week during 2011. This seems real easy to me today, January 2nd, during my slow season I just hope I can keep it up once my life starts the Spring Rush! Another reason for joining was this will give you a tiny glimpse of me- who my family is and what we do when I am not photographing clients! Oh and hopefully this will help me keep the blog updated.

I would love to hear from those of you who are following the blog so be sure to leave comments on any of my posts!

Week 1/52
My daughter sleeping soundly. As any parent of a young child who has trouble sleeping can agree- this is pure heaven to see!! And I think it was even before midnight!! Yes I have one serious night owl who is usually up with me into the wee hours when I edit!!
